WHITENING
If you feel that you would like a brighter, whiter smile, tooth whitening may be a good option for you. At Briter Dental, we provide two methods to help achieve your esthetic goals:
1. Professional Teeth Whitening. This chairside whitening technique is performed in our office and usually takes approximately 1 – 2 hours. This is the best choice for fast results: you leave with whiter teeth!
2. At-Home Whitening System. This home-use technique uses a bleaching gel (various concentrations of carbamide peroxide are available) that is placed inside bleaching trays or “mouth guards,” and are used overnight over the course of 2 weeks to maximize results. The bleaching trays are fabricated by taking a customized impression of your mouth. Bleaching gel and the trays can be purchased as a package or separately.
Some tooth discoloration is not as easily affected by tooth whitening. If you have any of the following, your smile may not be optimally enhanced with whitening (you should consult your dentist):
1. Porcelain veneers, crowns, and bridges
2. Composite restorations
3. Tetracycline stained teeth
4. Hypo/hyper calcified teeth or “white spotted teeth”
